Veteran Actor, Chris Mulkey, star on the critically acclaimed Lifetime television series, Any Day Now, has just filming his 70th movie, American Girl.

This Ridley Scott, independent film costars Jena Malone (Life as a House / Stepmom), Clifton Collins, Jr.(Traffic). Alicia Witt (Vanilla Sky) and Michelle Forbes (Escape from LA).

Mulkey is an actor who has never been given stardom on a silver platter, but he has become a "star" by working hard and continuously, since his arrival in 1976. Acting is his job. Over hsi career, he has averaged almost three films a year plus five television series and a multitude of television guest appearances. This is a huge body of work, but not unusual for a successful actor. Mulkey is a testament to living the "Hollywood Reality" not the "Hollywood dream" because he must constantly hustle to auditions and mee with directors and producers to get jobs. By comparison, mega male stars in Mulkey's age range, like Bruce Willis, Ed Harris, Pierce Brosnan and Kevin Spacey have made less than 60 movies each. Mulkey's story is interesting because during the past 4 years, he has completed 88 hours of television, plus thirteen full-length feature movies. He is a down-to-earth guy who has had large roles in small productions and small roles in big productions. He is a star but not a celebrity. He loves to play hoops at the gym, walk his dog along Venice beach and play his guitar. His 20-year marriage to actress/artist Karen Landry, most noted for her role on St. Elsewhere, is solid. His family values are strong and his relationship with his two college aged daughters is best described as "involved".

"My friends always knew both my mother and father. Dad would drive us to school and help us with our homework", states daughter Emelia.

"And, he just sang with my school choir", stated daughter Lizzy.
